Woodlands Bed and Breakfast

The Isle of Skye has many local activities that provide interesting tourist attractions. Provided is a list of the one we at Woodlands think you might like.

Sights

Dunvegan Castle and Gardens

Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years. Built on a rock, it has survived clan battles, the extremes of feast and famine and the profound social, political and economic changes through which the Western Highlands and Islands have passed.

The Clan Donald Centre

This estate, once part of the traditional lands of Clan Donald, was purchased by the Clan Donald Lands Trust in 1971.

The Trust has restored the gardens and part of the Castle, created the Museum of the Isles, founded the Study Centre, built holiday accommodation and established a visitor centre that appeals to all age groups.

Skye Guides

Skye Guides are climbers with a serious passion for their patch. We know that we have the best mountains in Britain and are confident that we provide climbing adventures that are second to none. Acres of unclimbed rock accompanies the hundreds of classic routes already established. Winter or summer, guiding and instruction for individual days or five-day courses is available for all levels of ability.

The Old Man of Storr

The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west.

Day Trip to Harris

With its contrasting rugged ‘lunar’ landscape and stunning white beaches, Harris is spectacular to the eye. The rare coastal machair environment provides a home to a wide variety of rare species and the grasslands are covered by a jewel-like carpet of wild flowers.

The Bella Jane - Sea Cruises

The Bella Jane trip is Tourist Board 4 Star Quality Assured - meaning "an excellent standard of facilities and services". They have now been established for 18 years and always aim to provide a reliable and quality service with unparalleled flexibility and choice.

The Skye Museum of Island Life

The Skye Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir, Isle of Skye was opened in 1965. The aim was to preserve a township of thatched cottages, each one depicting, as closely as possible, the conditions prevailing on the island at the close of the nineteenth century.

Talisker Scotch Whisky Distillery

Talisker is an Island Single Malt Scotch whisky produced by the Talisker Distillery, Carbost, Scotland; the only distillery on the Isle of Skye.

Aros Centre

Aros the place to be, a must visit, a haven on a rainy day, a place for everyone, a cool place on a scorched day, a place to refresh...
